Youth killed at Andheri
MUMBAI, July 16: A 24-year-old youth died after attacked with a stone at D N Nagar, Andheri, on Wednesday afternoon. On Tuesday at around 11.15 am, as Manoj Kauder and his friend Nagerpalli were walking along N Datta Road in front of Kolu Cottage, two men attacked them. One of the assailants, later identified as Sanjay Nepali, struck Manoj on the head with a stone, said the police. Manoj was rushed to Cooper Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday afternoon. Investigations revealed that the attack on Manoj followed a complaint he lodged against Nepali at D N Nagar police station on July 13. Nepali's accomplice has been identified as Majid.

Educational tech course at SNDT

The educational technology unit of SNDT University has invited admissions to its one year part-time post graduate diploma in August. Women holding a degree from a recognised university and one year teaching experience at any level or a Bed degree can apply. Last date for admissionsis July 20. Contact: 2031879.

One year course in Urdu

The department of Urdu, University of Mumbai, is offering a one year certificate course in Urdu for non-Urdu speaking people interested in making their career in dialogue or script writing and acting in films and TV serials. Classes will be conducted twice a week in the evenings. Students who have passed SSC are eligible to apply. The last date of accepting forms is July 30. Contest for mothers-in-law n THE Guild of Women Achievers has announced its third annual contest to choose the best mother-in-law. Nominations may be sent in 250 words in English stating why the chosen one deserves the award. There is no entry fee. Nominations may be sent to the GOWA, 8/67 Block 1 Railway parallel Road, Kumara Park West, Bangalore-20, before August 15.
