PVR `bombs' turn out to be crackers

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, July 16: Panic gripped the crowd at the PVR Anupam complex yesterday afternoon when an unidentified bag was found lying in the premises. However, the bag turned out to contain fire-crackers and not bombs. A 30 calibre pistol was also found in the bag.

Joint Commissioner (South) Amod Kanth said, the licensed pistol was not loaded. The police claim to have traced the owner of the pistol but ``will not reveal the name of the owner to the press as it may hamper investigations. The pistol is the one used in a case of robbery and murder in Mehrauli.''

The theatre authorities informed the police control room when someone found the bag lying in the area.
