MTNL bill payment
Due to the postal strike, the MTNL phone bills dated July 1, 1998, and subsequent bills could not be delivered. The MTNL has, therefore, extended the due date for payment. Subscribers may avail of duplicate bill counter facilities available in all areas.
The due date for payment of STD, PCO bills dated July 10, 1998, for telephones numbers with 340, 346, 368, 372, 374 and 380 has been extended upto July 27.
Bar Council's decision flayed
The ABVP has condemned the All India Bar Council's decision to raise the minimum percentage of marks from 35 to 45 per cent for admission to First Year LLBB course. In a press note, it has stated that if theBar Council wants to improve the quality of legal professionals, it should impose stringent rules at the time of granting licences during the mandatory one year articleship.
V Care invites nominations
V Care, an emotional support group for cancer patients, has invited nominations for `Victor Awards', to be presented at next year's `Cancer Survivors' Day' celebrations on February 13. Entries, either in English or Hindi, should detail the patient's history of cancer, treatment, how adversities were overcome and what the patient is doing at present in 500 words.
