BHUJ, July 18: In another major seizure of RDX, the police recovered a kilogram of the deadly explosive from Dhebow hillock in Karo Dungar (Black Hills), about 70 km from Bhuj on Friday morning.The sleuths also recovered 400 kg of opium poppy and 660 bottles of illicit brew from a person in village Kadiyanagar, in Bhachau taluka in eastern Kutch.
Disclosing this at a press conference here, District Superintendent of Police (DSP) Keshav Kumar said that for the first time sniffer dogs trained by Gujarat police were used to detect RDX in the Rann.
The police have launched a massive combing operation in the hillock. The seizure was made in the wee hours of Friday after a team of Hyderabad police reached Bhuj with a 22-year-old Pakistan national, Mansoor, who was arrested in Hyderabad. Mansoor led the police team to the house of Abdul Wahid alias Baba (45), of Dinara village. Baba led the police team to the hillock where two packets of RDX concealed in plastic bags were found.
