The action followed the flash strike resorted to by over 300 MES workers, demanding an enquiry against the officer on Wednesday. The worker reportedly became temporarily deaf.

According to reports, 34-year-old K B Bhagale had been to the residence of the senior officer to repair a pipeline where he is believed to have asked the officer's wife to sign a paper which could be presented to his boss. When she refused, it is alleged that the worker made some unsavoury remarks to her. The upset lady immediately got in touch with her husband who allegedly beat up the worker while on duty at the Sub Area Mess.
