EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, July 18: The Bombay High Court has confirmed the death sentence of a thirty-year old youth Sunil Baban Pingle, who was held guilty of two murders and two attempts to murder in 1994.A resident of Sai village in Lonavala district, Pingle had strained relations with his wife Sunita. Sunita came to stay with her parents. According to the prosecution, Pingle troubled her family even after that. Sunita had already filed a maintenance suit against him and her mother Deubai filed a criminal case against Pingle. Pingle once broke open Sunita's house at night in 1994. When Deubai tried to stop him, Pingle attacked her with a sword, killing her on the spot. He then attacked his father-in-law and Sunita. And then attacked a cousin of his wife's. The prosecution said the cousin was murdered brutally. The Pune Sessions Court awarded him death penalty, which was confirmed by the HC today.
