Youth's body recovered The Katargam police fished out a youth's body from the Tapi river on Sunday morning. According to the police, the deceased, aged around 30, had Mohan Chiman tattooed on his arms and was wearing a blue shirt. A case under CrPC 174 has been registered and is being investigated.Theft In a case of house-breaking registered at the Mahidharpura police station, burglars broke into a house located in the Mahidharpura police station area and decamped with cash and ornaments worth Rs 1.50 lakh. Jaswant Rana, a resident of 3/4135 Dandiya Sheri in Navapura, complained to the police that some miscreants broke open the lock of his house and decamped with cash of Rs 10,000 and gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 1.40 lakh kept in the safe. The Mahidharpura police have registered a case under sections 380 and 457 of the IPC and are investigating. Vehicle thefts Three vehicles, a Hero Honda motorcycle and two Bajaj scooters, were reported stolen in separate cases registered in the Athwa Lines, Mahidharpura and Chowk Bazaar police stations. Salim Mohammed, residing at Ranitalav area of the city told the Chowk Bazaar police that his motorcycle (GJ 5 JJ 9313), which was parked in front of his house was stolen on Saturday night. In another case registered at the Athwa Lines police station, a scooter (GUC 7291), belonging to one Harshadrai Joshi, a resident of Palanpur Patia area, was stolen from the Makkai Pool area where he had parked it on Saturday night. In a third case of vehicle theft, Pankaj Vaidya, resident of Tadwadi in Rander told the Mahidharpura police that his scooter (GJ 5 E 7712) was stolen from opposite the Linear Bus stand, where it was parked.
