Advani asked to comment on law & order
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, July 24: Rajya Sabha Chairman Krishan Kant today expressed concern over the law & order situation in Delhi and directed Home Minister L K Advani to make a statement in the House on this issue. The statement is likely on Monday.Kant made the observation when agitating Congress members demanded the dismissal of the BJP Government for the lawlessness in the Capital. The Chairman said it was a serious matter and the HM should make a statement. When BJP member Narendra Mohan said that the matter was sub-judice as Delhi HC had asked the Delhi Government to file a status report on what steps it was taking to handle the situation, Kant said ``It is not not a question of the matter being sub-judice.'' Congress MPs Suresh Pachouri, Jitendra Prasada and Urmilaben Patel raised the issue during Zero Hour this morning. Copyright © 1998 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
