In a joint action, all sectors of the film trade - production, distribution, exhibition and cine employees - would suspend activities for the day and take out a huge rally from Juhu to Mantralaya, where a memorandum would be presented to Maharashtra Chief Minister Manohar Joshi urging him to take immediate action to curb the rampant cable and video piracy.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of representatives of all sectors of the film industry on Thursday. The cable piracy menace, which has assumed alarming proportions, was causing irreparable damage to the industry, the representatives said.
