FIPB spikes Daimler Benz plan, clears Ford Motor proposal
The Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) has rejected Daimler Benz's proposal for dividend balancing in its venture with Telco as the policy on foreign direct investment does not permit it. The FIPB, in a meeting on Saturday, opined that whether Daimler Benz had purchased shares for increasing its stake in Telco from the open market or from the Tatas, it was an FDI.
