Gulshan Kumar's brother accused of theft

NOIDA, Aug 5: The ongoing property dispute among family members of Gulshan Kumar, founder of the T-Series group, took a new turn on Monday with an FIR being registered against his brother Gopal Kishan for an alleged theft.

The complainant mentioned in the FIR is the manager of a T-series factory located at C-85, Sector-4, where the alleged theft of the master positives of inlay cards took place. Two of Gulshan Kumar's brothers, Darshan and Kishan Kumar, reached the Sector 20 police station in this reporter's presence and told the police that Gopal Kishan had called them up and said that he had the positives. They claimed, Gopal Kishan wanted Rs 10 crore for returning the positives.

He reportedly told his brothers that they had only a few hours to settle the matter as he was leaving for Singapore early next morning. Darshan Kumar and Kishan Kumar gave two written complaints to the police, one regarding the theft and another regarding the demand for money and the telephone threat. The police have so faronly registered an FIR regarding the alleged theft against Gopal Kishan, his father-in-law and two others.

Darshan Kumar and Kishan Kumar were in the Sector 20 police station till late last night. Kishan Kumar claimed that Gopal Kishan had fixed a rendezvous at a place near Ashram in Delhi. Initially the police had planned to send a police party with Kishan Kumar to arrest Gopal Kishan but later the idea was dropped and Kishan Kumar left for the meeting place alone in his car.

Superintendent of Police (City) of Noida R K Chaturvedi, who was present in the police station when Darshan Kumar and Kishan Kumar reached there, confirmed the incident of theft. He also confirmed that Gopal Kishan has been named in the FIR as a suspect.
