Dial-a-Help auto club in city soon

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
VADODARA, Aug 5: Zooming on the highway in anticipation of that much-awaited holiday when your car begins to chortle and suddenly refuses to budge. Well, all you need to do now is to get to the nearest phone booth and Dial a Help Auto Club, the `fourth emergency service' now available across the country, round-the-clock.

Providing breakdown services to two or four-wheelers for 24 hours and 365 days, the Club has set up Breakdown Contact Office which can be accessed on phone by the Club members moving across highways and surrounding areas in the event of a breakdown. The Club has set up a wireless station at its Vadodara office for members moving within Gujarat.

The Club's service vehicles manned by trained mechanics are already in operation in specific areas on the national highways, state highways and the interior pockets. Equipped with wireless system, the service vehicles are informed about a breakdown within minutes of the member's call to the contact office. The service vehicle nearest to the site of the breakdown then comes to the member's assistance at the earliest.

The Club also provides ambulance service in the event of an accident, driver service upto 200 kms from the point of need during an emergency, fuel service on the road and free transport service upto 200 kms from the point of breakdown.

Having established its network in Vapi, Valsad, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Ahmedabad and Mehsana in Gujarat, the Club plans to expand its coverage to other areas like Palanpur, Surendranagar, Bhuj, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Amreli, Junagadh and Kodinar.
