NEW DELHI, August 6: The University of Delhi will conduct the All India Inter-Varsity Squash Rackets Championships from January 18 next year. Jamia Millia Islamia University will play host to the North Zone inter-varsity hockey tournament for men from November 9 this year.These are the only two inter-varsity tournaments to be conducted by DU and Jamia this academic year, according to the inter-university sports calendar for the year 1998-99.
At the all-India basis (19 disciplines in all), athletics, half marathon and walking events (both men and women) will be organised by M Sundaranar University (Tirunelveli) from December 28; boxing at MDU, Rohtak (from December 15), swimming, diving and water polo at Punjab University (october 12 onwards) and wrestling at MDU, Rohtak (from November 1).
In games on four-zone basis, north zone men's cricket will be held at Guru Nanak Dev University (Amritsar) from January 12 next year, north zone men's football at Punjabi University, Patiala from November 18, north zone men's and women's table tennis at Gurukul Kangri, Hardwar from November 14.

Ball Badminton (m and w): at Nagpur University, from January 15, 1999.
Boxing: MDU, Rohtak, from December 15.

Cross Country Races (m and w): at IIT Kanpur from October 27.
Cycling (m and w): at Punjabi University, Patiala from December 5.
Football (w): at Madurai Kamaraj University from October 5.
Gymnastics and Malkhambh (m and w): at LNIPE, Gwalior from December 10.
Hockey (w): at University of Rajasthan, Jaipur from january 20, 1999.
Judo (m and w): at Panjab University, Chandigarh from January 22, 1999.
Powerlifting (m), weightlifting (m and w) and Best Physique: at University, Raipur (dates to be announced).
Rowing (m and w): at Madras University from january 27, 1999.
Softball (m and w): at Amravati from January 4, 1999.
Squash Rackets: at University of Delhi from January 18, 1999.
Swimming, diving (m and w), water polo (m): at Panjab University, Chandigarh from October 12.
Tennis (w): at Banasthali Vidyapeeth, Banasthali from December 23.
Wrestling: at MDU, Rohtak from November 1.
