India, US may open talks on fissile treaty
Two weeks before the Prime Minister's special envoy Jaswant Singh meets US deputy secretary of state Strobe Talbott in Washington, India and the US are likely to agree tomorrow on opening negotiations on a Fissile Material Cut-off treaty (FMCT). New Delhi's position actually parallels those adopted by all five nuclear powers as well as the nuclear threshold state of Israel.
