Four top VSNL slots vacant
NEW DELHI:
Three top slots for Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd (VSNL) are lying vacant apart from the post of the CMD of the company. These include posts for Director Development, Director Networks and Director Finance.

Vinoo Goyal belonging to the 1972 batch of the Indian Telecom Service (ITS) is tipped to be VSNL's next Director (development). As per the shortlist prepared by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) which conducted interviews for the position last week, Vinoo Goyal is the front runner followed by Subodh Saxena, a 1967 batch ITS officer. While Saxena is an executive director at the Telecom Consultants India Ltd (TCIL), Goyal is the Group general manager of TCIL. For the Director Networks, the front runners include Rajneesh Gupta, General Manager of the Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) and Bannerjee who is currently Chief General Manager of the Calcutta circle. The PESB also conducted interviews for the Director Finance's post last week and is in theprocess of finalising the shortlist.

Coca Cola signs Anil Kumble
NEW DELHI:
After signing the film icon Karishma Kapoor, it is now Anil Kumble's turn to step in Coca-Cola thunder. The company signed Kumble for its marketing initiatives in the capital today.

Kumble did not disclose the amount and duration of the deal. Kumble is the third cricketer Coca-Cola has signed after fast bowler Javagal Srinath and left handed batsman Sourav Ganguly.

Negotiations for signing Kumble have been going on since the last two months with the International Management Group which manages celebrities' publicity. Coca-Cola and PepsiCo, the two main rival competitors of the soft drink industry, have been pitching for well-known cricket personalities. Sachin Tendulkar, Azharuddin, Ajay Jadeja have already signed with up in the past with Pepsi while Coke has had Saurav Ganguly, Javagal Srinath on its chart.
