Woman murdered
A 87-year-old woman, Vijaya Gauri Girija Shankar Bhatt, residing in B-1, Anand Shankar Nagar Society, was strangled and the jewellery worth Rs 22,000, which she was wearing, was looted by unidentified people on Saturday night, the police said. According to a complaint lodged by Tushar Jayantilal Pandya, Bhatt's relative, the deceased lived alone in her house. A case has been registered and is being investigated.House burgled
One Dharmesh Kumar Amrut Lal Pandya, a resident of J/53, Krushna Park Colony opposite City Bus Stand on Ajwa Road, complained to the police that cash of Rs 14,300 kept in a steel almirah in his house was stolen on Sunday night. According to Pandya, a conductor in State Transport Department, miscreants had entered his house by breaking open the lock and carried out the theft. A luna moped (GJ-6-P-4369) worth Rs 6,000 and belonging to Mahesh Kumar Ochchwal Shah, a resident of E-89, Parag Raj Society on Harni Road, was stolen on Thursday night, the police said. One Manojkumar Dharmappa Jethi, a resident of Varasia, complained to the police that his scooter (GJ 6 M 6600) worth Rs 13,000, was stolen from his house on August 16.
