WASHINGTON, AUGUST 21: In a new twist to the sex and perjury scandal, Monica Lewinsky has contradicted Bill Clinton's confession about their sexual relationship and said the US President's personal secretary retrieved his gifts to her even though they had been subpoenaed in a court case.In her second appearance before a Grand Jury, the former White House intern said Clinton did touch her genitals, contradicting the US President's testimony that Lewinsky gave him oral sex which was outside the legal definition of sex given by the judge in the Paula Jones sexual harassment case, media reports said today.
Lewinsky testified before the Grand Jury yesterday at the invitation of special counsel Kenneth Starr who wanted to clear up discrepancies between her testimony and Clinton's on the affair between them. Lewinsky said Betty Currie, Clinton's secretary, came to her apartment last December to collect the gifts that had been subpoenaed by lawyers in the Paula Jones lawsuit, the New York Times said.
Currie had previously telephoned Lewinsky that day saying ``I hear you have something for me,'' NYT said, adding, Lewinsky told the Grand Jury that she assumed Clinton's secretary was referring to the gifts. Washington Post said Lewinsky told the Grand Jury she believed Currie came to fetch the gifts under the order from Clinton.
