MUMBAI, AUGUST 21: Neville Irani of RA Podar College lifted the men's singles table tennis title at the Somani College today.Irani beat Kedar Kasbekar of Hinduja in the final 21-19, 21-13, 17-21, 21-13 and helped his college to the team's title as well. Podar beat Sydenham 3-1 in the team's final with Irani winning both his singles matches.
RA Podar made a clean sweep of titles when Anagha Bhave wore the women's singles crown and won two singles and one doubles match, with A Walimbe, to take her college to the women's team title.

MCC, HR lead
MCC and HR were joint leaders with 15.5 points each at the end of the fifth round of the Inter-collegiate team chess championship organised by the University of Mumbai and conducted by the Bombay Chess Association at Bhavan's Hazarimal Somani College, Chowpatty.
MCC crushed Vartak (Vasai) with all wins while HR beat Vivekanand 3-1.
In the women's individual championships, Grishma Shah of Government Law Collage has won all her games at the end of the fifth round. Sharing second spot were Malti Vhatwar (Chetna), Pranita Malkhede (CHM) and Devashri Mhatre (Vartak) with four points each.
