Students' parliament in colleges

MUMBAI, Aug 21: Fourteen city colleges plan to soon launch a `Students Parliament' to train students in leadership, working of parliamentary systems and raise political awareness. The programme, part of `Vox Pupili' (Voice of Students) movement sponsored by India-First Foundation and the 14 colleges, was delayed due to the ongoing teachers' strike, stated Sudarshan Arya, the programme coordinator. The colleges include Lala lajpatrai College, Narsee Monjee, Ruia, Maharshi Dayanand, Sophia, Guru Nanak, Government Law, MP Sanghavi , Kandivli Education Society, MMK, SNDT Arts and Commerce, H Somani, Burhani and Khalsa.Copyright © 1998 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
