A delegation of Central Government Pensioners Association met the local MP, Satya Pal Jain today and requested him to get a Central Government Health Service dispensary opened in the City. Principals' Association of Affiliated Colleges of Panjab University held a meeting here today and appealed to the Prime Minister to personally intervene in the issue of teachers' strike. According to P S Sangha, convenor of the association, they have demanded that the genuine demands of the teachers should be met so that the issue is resolved at the earliest.

Blood camp held
A blood donation camp was organised by the Students Federation of India at the Panjab University Students Centre here today. The camp was inaugurated by the Dean Students Welfare (DSW), Prof R S Grewal. According to the DSW, 80 students donated blood on the occasion.

Shooting flayed
The Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has criticised the shooting incident at the university campus. The state vice-president, Arun Sood demanded that the university should initiate action against Kuljit Singh Nagra, who is a university senator. He stated that recurrence of such incidents should be tackled so that firmly so that elections can be conducted peacefully.
