Canara Bank donates beds to destitutes

CHANDIGARH, Aug 21: Canara Bank donated 10 folding beds to the inmates of Nari Niketan, the shelter home for destitute women, here today, to celebrate the 51st year of India's Independence.The folding beds were handed over to the inmates by H D Pai, general manager, Canara Bank. The donation was the outcome of the TRAM Campaign under which the employees of the company voluntarily contribute Rs 3 per month for undertaking social activities, said Rakesh Arora, a spokesman of the bank in a press release issued here today.
