NEW DELHI, August 21: India is hosting the five-day International Youth Hostels Conference (IYHC) beginning August 23. This is the first time this conference is being organised in a developing country.The conference is being organised by Youth Hostels Association of India. About 250 delegates from 60 countries, including England, the United States, France, Germany, Japan, South Africa, China and Chile will be participating in the conference.
According to Dr Harish K Saxena, national chairman of the IYHC, the meet will be inaugurated by Bhaskar Barua, the secretary (Youth Affairs). The participants will discuss and review the progress of the youth hostel movement in the past two years in various parts of the world. They will also discuss new ideas, market strategies and the introduction of information communication network.
