KOHIMA, August 22: Nagaland University teachers today called off their week-long strike and decided to attend classes from Monday.This decision was taken here at a meeting of the Nagaland University Teachers Association, president of the organisation M Venuh said.
The teachers decided to suspend their agitation, demanding implementation of latest University Grants Commission (UGC) recommendations, till further information from the Federation of Central University Teachers Association (FEDCUTA).
Meanwhile, teachers in Delhi who went on a week-long strike on Monday, today decided to go on another one-week strike from August 27.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the FEDCUTA, which resolved to continue the struggle for implementation of the UGC pay-scales. As a sop to the students, the federation promised it would ''make up'' for all classes lost due to the agitation.
