Crime Watch -- Vadadora

Man kills wife, ends life
In an incident reported from Kanalwaa village in Kawant taluka of the district, a husband committed suicide after hacking his wife to death with an axe. According to the police, after Pagadia K Rathwa saw his wife, Kagdiben, 48, in a compromising position with their daughter's father-in-law Ukadiyasinh Rathwa, he got furious and killed his wife. He, then, consumed a pesticide and ended his life, the police added.

Burn deaths
Two women, who sustained burn injuries while cooking, died in the SSG Hospital on Saturday, the police said. According to the police, while Sabuben Vasava, 55, a resident of Malsar in Shinor taluka of the district, was admitted to the hospital on August 20, the other deceased, Savita Rabari, 35, a resident of Kundela village in Dabhoi taluka, was admitted on August 18.

Theft
In a case of theft registered with the the Jawaharnagar police, armed men escaped with cash, gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 11,300 in the wee hours of Saturday. According to a complaint, unidentified men dressed in briefs and dhoti carried out the theft at gun point. While one person pointed the gun on Mahesh Das, a resident of Rameshnagar Society on the Karodia village road, two others opened the cupboard and stole the cash and ornaments. PI Ranjitsinh Solanki is investigating the case.

Horse rescued
The Vadodara Fire Brigade on Saturday rescued a horse which had fallen in the basement of an under-constructed building at Akshar Chowk, Munjmahuda. The staff, which was accompanied by an emergency van, took more than half-an-hour to rescue the animal. According to a Fire Brigade spokesman, a wooden plank was used in form of a staircase and the horse was made to climb up. The staff was also helped by the labourers working on the site.

Vehicle theft
A Sunny moped (GJ-6-FF-2764) worth Rs 13,000 was stolen from outside the Acharya Dawakhana near Gorwa Workshop on Saturday afternoon. The Gorwa police have registered a case and are investigating.
