Students allege foul play by Dy Education Officer

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NAGPUR, Aug 24: Students seeking admission to the D Ed course offered by the State Government, have alleged foul play by Deputy Education Officer Narayan Joshi, in the admission procedure, claiming that about 150 deserving students have been denied seats without any specific reason.

They have demanded an inquiry by an expert committee or CID over the issue and action against the concerned official. They have also threatened to launch a fast-unto-death agitation unless their demands are met.

Addressing a press conference, the students said Joshi denied admissions to several students who had scored marks well above the cut off marks required for admissions.

Ruprao Raut, Avinash Nimkar, general secretary, OBC Kranti Dal, among others were present at the press conference.
