Sameep , Rupali in State teamBombay Suburban District's Sameep Shah and Rupali Repale have been selected in the Maharashtra team for the Triathlete Games to be held in Manipur according to a Maharashtra Triathlon Association press release.
While Sameep hogged the limelight in the men's group at the State Championship held on August 22 at Pune, which formed the basis of selections, Rupali had a disappointing end. She was disqualified for changing the wheel with outside help during the race but was fortunate enough to qualify on her past track record.

Men: Rajender Sakhare (Pune), Dameep Shah (Bombay Suburban), Bharat rajput (Pune), Noshervan Mistry (Pune).
Women: Rupali Repale (Bombay Suburban), Meeta Rajput (Pune), Trushna Dhanwant (Nashik), Sonali Patil (Pune).
Sandeep dazzles
Sandeep Verma, 15, set a record while swimming the Sri Chinmoy Channel Swimmer Marathon in Lake Zurich (26.4 km) on August 9, according to reports reaching here. Verma, whotrains at Andheri Swimming pool under coach Arvind Palkar, swam the distance in 6 hours 37 minutes 20 seconds. The previous best time was 6:55.21 by Sahed Abdallas of Egypt in 1992. Sandeep Verma, who is sponsored by KM Goenka of Avishkar Trust with a great deal of help coming from his school Gokuldham, has been selected to represent Maharashtra in the nationals.
