VADODARA, Sept 1: The Baroda Management Association (BMA) and Oxfam, an international development agency, organised jointly a meeting on `Business for Social Development' here recently.While the meeting was chaired by Tushar Dayal, managing director, Transmetal Limited, several social workers and representatives from corporate sectors participated in the meeting.
Oxfam regional representative Rajni Khanna and other experts including Bhavna Ramrakhiani and professor Anil Bhatt represented Oxfam (India) Trust, spoke on the partnership between Shaishav group of social activists and the Bhavnagar Steelcast Industries.
The participants stressed the need for corporate sectors to contribute in the field for social development, environment and the health of the workers in areas around industries.
