Buried in the heart of Worli village is a 575-sqft space that is every clotheshorse's dream. Called Fashion Express, this tiny outlet is jam-packed with affordable, casual wear. Run by Prakash Thadani, who has been in the garment export business for 15 years, this outlet was opened in January, this year. Most of the clothes on display are in cotton -- with sleeveless tank tops, cotton sarongs, trousers and embroidered linen tops. All for under Rs 450.While Prakash sources most of his clothes from abroad, he is determined to keep his price tag low. "The idea is to have a budget range so that clients keep coming back to pick up new clothes," he says. Most of his fabrics come from the mills and he has it stitched according to the latest fashion trends. The stock is changed every fortnight so regular customers can always have something new to look forward to. And if you need any alterations, his staff will have it done -- on the spot -- in 10 minutes flat. Prakash stocks five sizes and keeps a wide range inpetite and extra large sizes. His experience has taught him that most stores do not cater for these out-of-the-ordinary body shapes. "We keep the Indian figure in mind when we cut all our clothes," he adds.
