NAGPUR, Sept 5: Shaikshanik Sangopan, an organisation of students, parents and teachers, has condemned the All India Students Federation (AISF) for conducting raids on tuition classes run by college teachers in the city.Addressing a press conference Friday, chief promoter of Sangopan, Avinash Senad condemned the AISF raids for which they were not competent at all and thus causing unnecessary harassments to the teaching and student community. Some elements in the AISF have even resorted to blackmailing teachers, Senad alleged.
The raids was an outcome of a political gimmick played by the AISF, Senad charged and alleged that some of the raiding AISF workers themselves have admitted to have been tutored in these classes. The AISF rather than targeting unapproved educational institutions was targeting tuition classes which benefited thousands, he said.
He claimed the current state of the education system, the intense competition for admissions had made classes a need of the hour. Conducting raids on`innocent' teachers was causing great embarrassment to such teachers, he said and warned that teachers would now seek police help if the AISF continued its raids, Senad warned.
A meeting of teachers has been organised at Maharajbagh on Sunday, September 13 to discuss the issue further, Senad informed.
