Man shot dead at Kurla by unidentified assailants

MUMBAI, Sept 5: A known hoodlum and National Security Act (NSA) detenue was shot dead by three unidentified gun at Nehru Nagar in Kurla (east) early this morning. According to police sources, Iqbal Ahmed Rauf Khan was standing at a shop near Bhandari Metal Company around 12.30 am when unidentified hitmen closed in on him and fired six rounds from a close range. While the victim staggered to the ground, the assailants made good their escape.Khan was rushed to LMT Hospital in Sion where he was declared dead around 3 am in the morning. Investigations revealed that before he was shot dead, Khan had returned from Antop Hill after meeting a friend. It appears his movements were watched, said the police. Police sources revealed that khan was a known hoodlum in the areas adjoining Kasaiwada and Nehru Nagar in Kurla.
