BJP chief rules out dismissal of Bihar Govt
The Bharatiya Janata Party president Kushabhau Thakre has ruled out dismissal of the Rabri Devi government in Bihar saying the right lay with the people to change a government. Claiming that the law and order situation in Bihar was "explosive'', he, however said that Vajpayee government would not impose President's rule in the State or demand removal of the government.

Jethmalani now takes on Metro MD
After an unseemly clash with Ministry Secretary Kiran Aggarwal, Union Urban Affairs Minister Ram Jethmalani has now taken on the Managing Director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) E Sreedharan. At the root of the clash is the custody of sensitive documents pertaining to the General Consultancy bids for the capital's Mass Rapid Transport System (MRTS).

Supporting a Govt not the same as backing the party: Karunanidhi
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M Karunanidhi has said that supporting a government at the Centre is totally different from backing the party which is running the government. He was confident that the people would have the ability and discernment to understand this difference between government and party.

Pawar stays away from key debates
Leader of the Opposition Sharad Pawar stayed away from three important discussions on political, economic and organisational matters at the brainstorming session of senior Congress leaders, triggering speculation about differences in the top leadership.
