Bidding adieu with chants, dance, colour... but no din
It had everything -- chants of Ganpati bappa morya, the dhol-tashas, the gulal and the banjos. However, the Ganpati festival this year lacked a key element: noise. With most public celebrations in Mumbai wired to ear-splitting Hindi film numbers, the tympanic relief these past 10 days came as a pleasant surprise.

Bajrangis rant against Mughal "revival" in Delhi
The Bajrang Dal has lashed out at the Delhi BJP government for trying to revive the Mughal culture in the Capital's Chandni Chowk area. "By organising the Chaudvin Ka Chand festival and the Meena Bazar to revive the Mughal culture in the Walled City, the BJP government is trying to take the people back to the dark middle ages,'' remarked Bajrang Dal national convenor Surendra Kumar Jain.
