Punjab Students Organisation (PSO) has announced that they would be contesting all the seats in forthcoming student elections. At a press conference, president of PSO, J. S. Leakage in Sarojini Hall hostel
Water leakage at the Sarojini Hall of Panjab University today led to flooding inside the corridors of the hostel. Girl residents complained that the leakage which began a fortnight ago is causing them considerable trouble. Meanwhile, repair work in the hostel has commenced.

Memo submitted to Forest Corpn MD
A deputation of employees of the Punjab Forest Ministerial Staff Association led by their president Rajesh Kumar met K. S. Aulakh, Managing Director, Punjab State Forest Development Corporation and submitted a memorandum of their demands to him. They demanded that the office cadre be enhanced and that promotions to the office staff be given from the due date. They also demanded construction of an employees' colony for employees posted at Chandigarh and Mohali.

Chandigarh Consumer Forum chairman Jaidev Singh was nominated treasurer of the National Consumer Coordination Council at the council's annual meeting in Delhi last week. The Chandigarh branch has complimented the municipal corporation for drafting the Citizens' Charter without delay.

Rs 1 lakh for PM's Relief Fund
A delegation of Marble Traders Association, Sector 51, and local MP Satya Pal Jain have donated Rs 1 lakh to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund. This was stated in a statement issued by the association's president S. S. Sethi, here today.

World peace mission discusses projects
The World Peace Mission at a meeting reviewed the progress of its projects, including the all-India essay contests and non-formal education for children of construction workers. A short video film documenting the mission's activities is proposed in the coming year.
Dissolved
INTUC youth wing dissolved
At an INTUC youth wing meeting with Kulbir Singh in the chair it was unanimously resolved to dissolve the previous youth wing body. Powers of all members have been withdrawn with immediate effect until new appointments are made.
