NEW DELHI, September 7: Hundreds of girls from Lady Shri Ram College participated in a unique cross country run last week-end that began at the Siri Fort and ended at the college premises. The purpose of the run: to propogate anti-pollution among the citizens of the Capital.By the disciplined manner of their act, the participants showed that one could show concern for a cause without resorting to all the attractive hype that are normally associated with such races.
In keeping with the theme of the race, the participants took care not to litter the roads with the remains of the refreshments provided to them.
The run was flagged off by the Vice-Principal of the college, Asha Mathur, who herself walked part of the way to show her solidarity with the cause. The race was organised by LSR sports president, Pragya Singh.
For the record, Radhika Khosla, sports vice-president of the college came first. Following students finished the race in the order: 1.Radhika Khosla 2.Unnati Puri 3.Ranica Barua 4.Sunaina Mathur 5.Rakesh 6.Sabah hamid 7.Sheetal negi 8.Nachiketa Chandra 9.Radhika Arora and 10.Alpana Gupta.
