SHIMLA, Sept 7: Out of 36 injured persons who were admitted to the Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital after the bus accident near Kufri yesterday, 23 persons have been discharged.According to the medical superintendent of the IGMC, six persons were still in the casualty ward while four were undergoing treatment in the trauma unit ward for multiple fractures. Two were being treated in neuro-surgical ward of the hospital.
Meanwhile, 4 dead bodies still remain unidentified while rest of the bodies had been handed over to the next of kin after the postmortem. The sub-divisional magistrate (rural) today started enquiring into the accident and visited the spot alongwith the technical staff of the Himachal Road Transport Corporation. He also recorded the statements of some of the eye-witnesses. He has been asked to submit his report within 15 days.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Ram Subhagh Singh said the state government and the district administration had distributed ex-gratia and relief to the next of kin of the dead and to the injured persons.
