Disqualification of D'Souza quashed
The Panaji Bench of Bombay High Court has paved the way for the Wilfred D'Souza government's vote of confidence today. The court has quashed Speaker Tomazinho Cardozo's order disqualifying the chief minister and nine other legislators from the membership of the Goa Assembly.

Sonia calls for united Congress
The Congress had not indulged in any "toppling'' game despite the poor performance of the BJP-led coalition government at the Centre but taken on the role of a responsible Opposition, according to party president Sonia Gandhi. She exhorted party leaders from the state to work unitedly to ensure a Congress victory in the November Assembly polls.
