COIMBATORE, September 8: Police today unearthed a racket of illegal sale of detonators using various transport parcel offices and arrested two persons, including one in Palakkad.A top police source said here the modus operandi of the gang, said to be operating in Karnataka, Karur (TN) and Palakkad (Kerala), was to purchase ammunition like detonators and other explosive materials and send them under fictitious names to Karur.
The Karur man, on receipt of the parcel, would repack them and send them to Palakkad.
