Rs 4.5 cr ad campaign for Armed forces recruitment

CHENNAI, September 8: A massive Rs 4.5 crore advertisement campaign has been planned to mobilise students to get recruited as officers and technical staff in the Armed Forces, Major General G S Riar, Additional Director General (Recruiting), Army Head Quarters, New Delhi has said. The campaign would be launched in two months' time.

Riar told The Indian Express, that presentations had been received from five leading advertising agencies. The department was in the process of selecting one for the mass media campaign for the current year, he added.

The recruitment mobilisation would soon go on the internet too with a web page being opened soon by the Military Intelligence. On the reasons for the low turnout of students wanting to join the armed forces, Riar said it was mainly because people were not aware of the number of disciplines and the career opportunities in the Army.
