NEW DELHI, September 8: Puneet Dayal, a product of Play-makers Academy, has returned from England after another successful season with Ambergate Club in the Derbyshire county league.A student of St Stephen's College, Puneet scored over 750 runs and captured 51 wickets with his off-break bowling, despite missing six matches in between. He struck two centuries and on four occasions captured five or more wickets in an innings. His best efforts were 128 and six for 21 (including a hat-trick). His best bowling performance was five for nine.
A replacement for former Engalnd batsman Derek Randall, two seasons ago, opeing batsman Puneet Dayal scored over 1,000 runs and claimed over 50 wickets in his first season as an overseas professional.
Puneet had represented Delhi and North Zone in under-16 Merchant Trophy, Rajasthan and Central Zone in under-19 (Cooch Behar Trophy). As the captain of St Stephen's team last season, he guided the team into the inter-college semifinals.
