Pak cricket stars implicated in match-fixing
A Pakistani inquiry has found cricket stars Wasim Akram, Salim Malik and Ijaz Ahmed responsible for match fixing and recommended that they be banned. An interim report by the Pakistan cricket board committee said that the three should not play in Tests until further investigations are finished.

Bhupathi and Croat Mirjana defeats Luis Lobo and Javier Sanchez
The Indian pair, Bhupathi and Croat Mirjana Lucic, seeded fourth in doubles, defeated Luis Lobo of Argentina and Javier Sanchez of Spain in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 at the US Open. Bhupathi and Croat Mirjana Lucic, however, bowed out of the US Open mixed doubles losing in the quarter-finals here last night.

Dual teams may unearth stars: Dungarpur
The selection of two teams for the Commonwealth Games and the Sahara Cup may have been unprecedented in the annals of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) history, creating an unsavoury episode in the recent past. The BCCI chief Raj Singh Dungarpur, however, feels that ``there lies a silver lining in the selection of the teams.''
