PATNA, SEPT 10: A section of Siwan police who launched an indefinite strike in protest against alleged assault on one of their colleagues and snatching of his official pistol by RJD MP, Sahbuddin, called off the stir after nearly a day today.State Director General of Police, K A Jacob, said there was no agitation by police in Siwan today. ``Everything has been settled... and the strike has ended,'' he said.
Jacob said police superintendent (Siwan) had assured the agitating Bihar Policemen's Association (BPMA) that ``the guilty persons responsible for the incident would be punished''.
BPMA president, Jitendra Narain Singh, also confirmed that the stir was called off this afternoon after reaching an understanding on the demand of Siwan unit of the association.
A section of Siwan police owing allegiance to the BPMA yesterday proceeded on indefinite strike after the incident.
