CHANDIGARH, Sept 10: The Special Games for the mentally retarded, organised by the Governement Institute for the Mentally Retarded, Sector 32 not only saw a marked enthusiasm among the participants, but also conveyed their desire -- and to an extent their ability -- of joining the mainstream.Gurpreet could cross the hurdles more comfortably than others in his group and came first in the event. Jaswinder and Manu Joshi were second and third respectively. Gurpreet also came first in the musical chair race. Rakhi was second and Manu Joshi took the third spot.
In the flat race, Avinash was first while Ashok and Sapan were second and third respectively.
More than 30 children took part in the meet organised by Inner Wheel Club of Chandigarh Midtown.
Yoga workshop
A three-day special workshop on yoga training and treament will be organised by Chandiarh and Haryan Yoga Sabhas at Divya Yoga Mandir, Shivalik Enclave, Manimajra from September 11 to 13.
Cricket trials
Trials to select the Chandigarh team for participation in the Punjab Senior Inter-District Katoch Shield cricket tournament will on held on September 13 at the DAV Sr Sec School, Sector 8 at 3.30 p.m.
