MUMBAI, September 14: Before joining Shiv Shakti, Rathod was a shakhapramukh, while Kulkarni was upshakhapramukh. Both were regarded as close to Naik.Apparently, a large number of Naik's followers are upset with him for his move to reach an agreement with Congress leader Sharad Pawar. ``We feel Naik should concentrate on strengthening the organisation in Navi Mumbai, instead of running after Pawar,'' a Naik supporter said.
After he was sacked from the Cabinet, Naik set up Shiv Shakti and then captured the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation by engineering a split in the Sena there.
Subsequently, two other Sena legislators -- Suresh Navale from Beed and Gulabrao Gawande -- who were also sacked, joined him to launch a campaign against the Sena. Navale launched Janshakti at Beed, while Gawande set up the Shivshakti Pratisthan at Akola.
As part of their anti-Sena campaign, the three will undertake a statewide tour in the last week of September. On September 23, Naik, Navale and Gawande will address apublic meeting at Akola, followed by a series of meetings all over the state.
The three recently called on Sharad Pawar at Chindwara in Madhya Pradesh to chalk out a strategy to dislodge the alliance government. On the other hand, Sena supremo Bal Thackeray has declined to take disciplinary action against the erring legislators, saying he was not bothered about such anti-party activities.
