Vehicle thefts Five vehicles were stolen from different parts of the city in the past 24 hours, according to the police. While a TVS Scooty moped (GJ-6-R-1039) worth Rs 13,000 was stolen from outside Jagdish Hotel near Sardarbaug, a Bajaj Super scooter (GED-3769) worth Rs 5,000 was lifted from Raopura. Another Bajaj Super scooter (GJ-6-FF-9804) worth Rs 20,000 was stolen from near the Alkapuri petrol pump, a Sunny moped (GJ-6-L-4597) worth Rs 6,000 from Alkapuri Centre Point and a Luna moped (GJ-6-C-458) worth Rs 3,000 from MIG Flats, behind Buddhdev Colony in Karelibaug.Liquor seized The police on Monday arrested three people and recovered 85 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor worth Rs 23,000 from their possession. The police also seized 248 litres of country liquor, worth Rs 4,920, from different places of the city, during raids at nine other places. Scooter stolen Ashwinbhai Lalbhai Patel, a resident of Shinor, has in a complaint in the Sayajigunj police station, claimed that his scooter (GJ-6-DD-5246), worth Rs 25,000, was stolen by some unidentified persons from Sardarbaug on Monday. He said that he had parked his scooter in Sardarbaug and gone for some work, and on returning found it missing. A case has been registered and investigations are on, the police said.
