Nepal team for Limca Soccer

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, Spetember 14: St Michael's School will take on General Raj Public School in the inaugural match of the Limca Soccer tournament, which gets underway at the Modern School ground here tomorrow.

With every passing year, this premier tournament for schoolboys, has grown in stature. Now in its 13th year, with the participation of a foreign team Galaxy School (Nepal) for the first time, it has acquired international flavour.

The organisers, Physical Education Congress (PEC), with the help of sponsors Limca, had invited three schools from abroad one each from France, Dubai and Nepal this year. While confirmations from the Nepal school has come, schools from the other two nations are yet to respond.

The organisers are hoping that the teams might still make it. If they do turn up, they will be accommodated in the super league which is slated to begin towards the end of the month.

Meanwhile, the organisers have directly seeded eight outstation teams, including the one from Nepal, into the superleague based on their performance in the previous year.

They are: DAV (Chandigarh), St George's School (Mussoorie), Pestle Weed College (Dehra Dun), Sports School (Rai), Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan (Jaipur), Galaxy School (Kathmandu), St Joseph's School (Tamil Nadu), St Alloyses (Jabalpur). The groupings, however, have not yet been made as the organisers expect confirmation one way or the other from France and Dubai in the next couple of days.
