The CPI(M) today called a statewide ``rail and road blockade'' on September 21 to protest against the Centre's move. Terming the proposed Bihar State Reorganisation (Vananchal) Bill 1998 as discriminatory and politically motivated, a CPI(M) press release alleged that such a move would lead to ``regional imbalances and whip up passions''.

Bihar Vikas Party (BVP) today warned the Centre against the plans to create a separate state out of Bihar and said ``such an action may whip up passion and unleash violence and disturbances''.

``There is no justification for dividing the State into two as it will immensely harm the interests of people belonging to South and North Bihar as well,'' Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav toldreporters.

The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) today decided to extend full support to the Bill, said CLP leader Ramashray Prasad Singh.

Singh told reporters that the legislature party would abide by the decision taken by the Congress Working Committee (CWC) to renew its support for the creation of the separate state.

He said the party, however, had not yet taken any decision on whether or not to continue its support to the RJD government over the issue. Singh demanded Centre to give a special financial package to north and central Bihar to accelerate the pace of development in the event of creation of the proposed state.

JMM(S) yesterday announced that it would withdraw support to the Rabri Devi government following RJD President Laloo Prasad Yadav's outright rejection of the Bill. Party's chief whip Prashant Kumar today said JMM(S) legislature party would sit here tomorrow to formalise the decision to inform the governor about his party's stand. Taking a dig at Yadav for his complete ``turnaround'' on the issue, Kumar said ``'we had been badly hoodwinked and cheated by Yadav''.
