Indian curry rules English palate
In the spa-town of Harrogate, curry cooks yesterday battled for the title of Britain's National Curry Chef 1998. The competition, first held in Bradford 1992, is an annual affair where "chicken vindaloo'' clashes with "prawn do piaza'' and "pilau rice'' with "naan bread''. Curry has been South Asia's most successful export to Britain.

Two-wheeled `car' amazes Nagar residents
A two-wheeler with a unique look has been the cynosure of all eyes in and around Ahmednagar city. The vehicle, an M-80 moped, has specially designed seats and a hood which shields the rider from the rain and sun.

Ghatkopar colony says not more plastic
Following the example of Navy Nagar, Colaba, use of plastic carry bags has been banned at the Naval Store Depot Officers' Quarters at Ghatkopar (East). The instruction for the 150-odd families residing there is terse: Polythene is not allowed inside. Please co-operate, reads the message displayed at the entrance of the residential area.
