BJP ready for new ties
Prime Minister A B Vajpayee yesterday gave strong hints that the DMK's support to the BJP-led government at the Centre was most welcome. He declared, "We are ready to accept support from all quarters and any quarters.'' However, he hastened to add that the BJP had not held parleys with the DMK on the issue.

CPI(M) backs Laloo's stand on Vananchal
Political parties in Bihar are sharply divided over the Vananchal Bill as the CPI(M) came out in support of the ruling RJD. The CPI(M) has called a statewide "rail and road blockade'' to protest against the Centre's move.

JMM leader wants Rabri Govt to seek trust vote
Former Lok Sabha member and vice-chairman of Jharkhand Area Autonomous Council, Suraj Mandal, has demanded that Bihar Governor Sunder Singh Bhandari should ask the Rabri Devi Government to seek a vote of confidence in the floor of State Assembly immediately in the wake of withdrawal of support by 22 members of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (S) and its allies on Tuesday.
