During the day, the doctors attended to as many as 65 patients suffering from fever, chronic cough, skin ailments and upper respiratory infections and gave medicines free-of-cost. The medicines have been contributed by association members, doctors who run private clinics and private trusts.

Talking to Express Newsline, one of the JDA members said currently they were treating only those who were suffering from minor ailments.

While admitting that their running the clinic depended upon the contributions of medicines by doctors and private trusts, they said their current stock of medicines would last for about three to five days. The medicines are being given free-of-cost to patients.

Meanwhile, a delegation of the association has left for Surat to treat flood-affected people.

While no emergency or operation cases were reported at the clinic on Thursday, the doctors rendered their services from 9 to 11 am. They said they would extend the hours on the response of patients and contribution of medicines.

Meanwhile, later in the afternoon, a delegation of JDA doctors from Vadodara and Surat met the State Minister for Health Ashok Bhatt to press for their pending demands. The minister, according to a JDA member, asked the agitating doctors' to first call off their stir and then come for talks.
