UGC to reduce grants to non-accredited varsities
BANGALORE, Sept. 17The University Grants Commission (UGC) is to reduce its grants for those State Universities which are not assessed or accredited by reputed independent bodies like the National Assessment and Accreditation. Usually universities plead a shortage of funds as an excuse for not seeking an assessment.
